Stow New Look Celebration!
Ribbon Cutting at Stow "New Look" Celebration
Following the trend of making 2017 the best year yet, Cutler set its sights on Stow as we continue the remodeling project of our offices in Northeast Ohio! Our Stow office celebrated earlier this month its "New Look"! Realtors, Staff, Family, and Friends attended the celebration. Although the weather outside was cold and snowy, inside the office was filled with excitement, warm welcomes and hugs as guests were welcomed into a modern, open concept work space.

What drew you to the Real Estate industry?
What made me decide to become a Realtor was after working in corporate America for over 12 years I got tired of wearing a suit and tie and being told what to do so therefore I got into Real Estate to be my own person, now I don't have to wear a suit and tie all the time I love wearing this suit but I hate wearing a tie. The other thing is working with clients I enjoy working with people and helping them find their dream home.
What do you enjoy about working in Real Estate?
What I enjoy about working in Real Estate is working with different people, everyday it's a different challenge. No two days are alike and you never get bored. Also when you're out searching for homes you'll come across that diamond in the rough, a building that's never been touched for years. And then you find the right buyer and turn it in to their dream home.
What would you say to someone starting out in Real Estate?
What I would say to someone first getting into Real Estate is to be patient, you're not gonna have the clients like a Realtor has that's been in the business for 20 plus years. It takes time. You have to understand that most Realtors takes over 3 years to build up their clientele and have a backup plan. Know what you're going to do when things are a little soft in the market, know what things you're gonna do when things are thriving in the market. Don't get overwhelmed, don't get stressed out, enjoy yourself.
What's the most challenging thing you find in Real Estate?
The largest challenge I've found in Real Estate today is all the technology that's used. When I first started in Real Estate over 15 years ago all you had was a telephone and a piece of paper to write everything down. Now, you have a smartphone, a tablet, your laptop, and about 15 apps to use. Not only do you know how to use them, but you have to show your client how to use all these apps and when to use them and when not to use them. That's what makes Real Estate challenging to me.

Where Real Estate and Art Effortlessly Collide
Earlier this month, with much excitement, we reopened our Kent office. We couldn't think of a better way to start off 2017, as we celebrate our 70th Anniversary as a company. For Cutler, the opening of this space in revitalized downtown Kent holds high hopes and anticipation for yet another momentous year.
Our new space, touting modern décor with pops of our signature Cutler orange, is similar to that of our Downtown Wooster, New Albany and Powell offices. Visitors walk into a space unlike any real estate office they've ever seen. What makes this office unique is that it shares space with Group Ten Art Gallery, a group of local co-op artists.

Visitors can expect to be warmly greeted by the Stow office manager, Shirley Chimento and a smiling Administrative Assistant. Our Realtors and guests are able to easily conduct business in an open concept work environment. To the left of the office entrance, visitors are engulfed into a world of eclectic works of local art.
Art is not what typically comes to mind when thinking about a real estate office. However, in Kent the two spaces effortlessly collide into one wonderful space of creativity and business. Essentially at this office, once you sign the papers to purchase your new home you can then purchase a piece of art for your new home!

Our Kent office sits at the corner of Erie and Haymaker nestled beside the Kent State University campus in the newly revitalized downtown Kent. The office is open daily from 8am to 5pm.

Attention Homeowners, Protect Your Home from Ice Dams
Ever heard of an ice dam? If you've experienced the home damage that can be caused by these wintertime hazards, you won't soon forget the term!
An ice dam is a hump of ice that forms at the edges of a roof, caused by snow and ice. Ice dams may be caused when the attic gets warm enough to melt the underside of a layer of snow on the roof. What happens next is water drips down the roof until it reaches the colder eaves, where it refreezes. Gradually, all that water grows into a mound of ice. Dams can also be caused by gutters that trap snow and ice, which can build up high enough to provide the foundation for an ice dam.
